The Voidsoul

What is it?

The Voidsoul is a rift between the layers of existence. It is a punched hole that opens to the Void (an abstract realm where souls are shown and pass through into death). The Void is the bridge between life and death. It is the portal for finished souls to pass through into eternity. The Voidsoul, while being in the world for as long as history is recorded, there still seems something off with this dark celestial body. It feels like that this is still never supposed to be here. But it exists now, passing over the sky every few days and brining with it the pure energy of the Void.

The Effects of the Voidsoul.

The Voidsoul plays large effects on the world of Phantar. Whenever this black hole hangs in the sky, it energizes the very air with pure Essence (the powerful energy of the Void itself). Powers of the Voidwalkers (ghostly wielders of Void power and death) enhance exponentially and the imbuing energy is strong enough to allow more powerful Spir (spirit creatures of the world) into the world.

The Orbit of the Voidsoul.

The Voidsoul doesn't actually orbit around the planet like how the sun and moon does. It forms once every few days when the Essence of the planet builds up. Once formed, the Voidsoul acts as a black sun that shines green light on the world while completely blocking out the sun or moon. Just like our moon reflects the sun's golden light, the moon in this world also reflects the jade light of the Voidsoul on some occasions. When this happens, it's called a Jade Moon. When the Voidsoul does form, it typically lasts in orbit for the span of about 24 hours before disintegrating completely. This is the cycle. However, according to history, the appearance of the Voidsoul has been far less frequent and seems to appear more and more with each passing century. It is guessed that it won't be long till there might be a permanent Voidsoul over the world of Phantar.
